- The Mountain Bike test in stages has already landed in Almería to live its first edition until December 12.
- The Prologue stage, which was held this afternoon, has decided the starting order of the 280 participants for the 1st stage, scheduled for tomorrow from 8:30 a.m.
- Purito Rodríguez, Óscar Pujol, Triki Beltrán or the triathlete Iván Raña are some of the protagonists who will travel 350km through landscapes as impressive as Cabo de Gata or the Tabernas desert.
- The organization will have a sustainable ŠKODA fleet to assist the bikers during the race, where the 100% electric Enyaq iVs will be combined with plug-in hybrid vehicles.
08.12.2021 The 1st edition of the ŠKODA Titan Series Almería is already a reality. From first thing in the morning, the participants have been arriving at the Cabo de Gata Exhibition and Congress Center – City of Almería for the verifications and the collection of the license plate of their bicycles. A quiet start where the Titan atmosphere has already been breathed and where the cyclists have attended the informative briefing to find out all the details of the Prologue and stage 1.
The inaugural edition has 280 registered, of which 88% of the participants are men. A percentage that continues to be very high, compared to 12% in the female category. The origin of the participants, 90% are Spanish, although there is also a presence of French cyclists (2%), Andorran or from countries as diverse as Argentina, Honduras, Belgium, Germany, Slovenia, the United States, Ethiopia or the United Kingdom.
Prologue stage to define the start boxes
From 3:00 p.m., the Torrecárdenas Shopping Center has hosted the start of a Prologue of 24.5km and 210m of positive difference in altitude, planned in a loop circuit that has been developed along the Andarax river boulevard.
The participants have started two by two every 30 seconds, while the first numbers, assigned to the male and female elite, have done so individually every 60 seconds.
A previous stage that is key to the development of the ŠKODA Titan Series Almería, since it has served to define the order of the starting boxes for the 1st stage, scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, December 9, at 8:30 a.m. After the dispute of this Prologue, the fastest participants and that, therefore, will start from the first drawer of the test, will be led by Gabriel Sánchez, José David Latorre, Juan José Meca, Desirée Moya, Naima Madlen and Vero Richard. A total of 5 starting boxes of 50 participants each will be formed.

ŠKODA strengthens its commitment to cycling by sponsoring the premiere of the ŠKODA Titan Series Almería. The brand makes a sustainable fleet available to the organization in which the electric Enyaq iVs will be combined with plug-in hybrid vehicles. Six Enyaq iV vehicles will be responsible for opening all the stages, just as they have done in events such as the Tour de France, the Vuelta a España or the Titan Desert in Morocco. 1st StageŠKODA Titan Series Almería: El Toyo-El Toyo
Tomorrow, starting at 8:30 a.m., the titans have an appointment at El Toyo to take the start of the 1st stage. Ahead, a route of 102 km and 1,715 m D + that will take the participants through a loop circuit, from the town of El Toyo and through the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. It will be a start in style, as it is the longest stage of the four that will take place until Sunday, December 12. The day will leave spectacular prints and great natural beauty of Cabo de Gata. Very varied sections that will go through wide tracks, as well as soft and very sandy Ramblas, the most complicated part for the titans.
