The next edition of the Škoda Titan Desert Almeria 2023, will have a similar route to previous editions, but with new features and improvements on the previous route.
A total of 4 stages of the race will include the classic day in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. A loop stage from El Toyo where we will overcome sandy wadis. This will be followed by two mountain days in which we will ride through the Sierra de la Alhamilla and climb the mythical Velefique pass. The last day will take place inside the installations of the Legion, in a route that is impossible to do if it is not within the organisation of the race.
In short, we are talking about stages that will take place, for the most part, on large tracks, with a significant accumulated positive difference in altitude, stretches of wadi and spectacular views of the sea from the summits of the area. And the unique opportunity to ride through the Tabernas desert, the largest desert in Europe.
Almost 400 kilometres to discover, on our bikes, a unique terrain.

Description:
After the prologue that will mark the starting order of the stage, the Škoda Titan Desert Almería 2022 starts properly with a loop stage around El Toyo.
More than 100 kilometers and already the first challenges for the peloton. In sports, the wind can mark the development of the day, taking into account that the peloton will ride along Cabo de Gata for many hours.
The second half will be very technical, with quite sandy descents and sections that will force the riders to maintain a constant pace and find their development well.

Description:
Pure mid-mountain day that accumulates more meters of positive slope than the previous day, despite being a stage of almost 40 kilometers less.
The technical difficulty increases, especially after passing the town of Níjar.
From here, a tough climb begins, the first great challenge of this Škoda Titan Desert Almería 2022.
The ending, again, will be very technical. The descent from the pass is fast and it will be important for the peloton to be cautious and descend at a pace that is comfortable.
At the finish line, the iconic Mini Hollywood of Tabernas awaits them, a history of Spanish and European cinema from the second half of the 20th century.

Description:
The third day appears the presumed queen stage of the Škoda Titan Desert Almería: the Škoda We Love Cycling. Not only is it the stage with the highest mileage, but in the equator a colossus emerges that is the history of Spanish cycling: the Alto de Velefique.
With five appearances as the finish line in La Vuelta, this climb is shaping up to be the key point that will define the overall standings of the Škoda Titan Desert Almería. Especially considering that this stage will be where the Škoda Challenge takes place.
NOTE: From PK 75 to PK 85, Cortijo de Las Hoyas is crossed, a private property, and traffic is only authorized on that road during the race.
This sports challenge will measure the climb times of the entire peloton. The runner and the runner who complete it first will receive several bonus seconds in the general.

Description:
Return stage to El Toyo, starting point, four days before, of the Škoda Titan Desert Almería 2022. This fourth part is called the Spirit of the March Legion Stage.
This is so due to the presence on the route of the Álvarez de Sotomayor Military Base, the barracks of the King Alfonso XIII II Brigade of the Legion.
Final goal of the Škoda Titan Desert Almería 2022 and definitively become Titans.

Difficulty:
Description: A stage passing through dunes and a first navigation sector with some passages that are not easy to locate. The second part runs through a stony area with steep ascents and descents, leading to tracks in good condition that take us to the finish line.
Logistics: A loop stage in which you will spend two nights in the same haima (tent), so you do not need to prepare your luggage that day.

Description: First part along wide and fairly sandy tracks, after which the terrain changes and becomes very stony with constant ascents. The last part of the stage includes a short but technical descent, after which we ride along a large track that takes us to the finish line, to make you a Titan.
Logistics: You will sleep in a hotel after the last stage. Check the one allocated to you by the organisation. Remember to pack your bike for the return trip.
